Not too much to report this week, although we are definitely seeing the blessings of a divided area!
We have continued to work hard to get new investigators, and build up the members in a couple crucial areas called Gordinho (which translates as “little fat”) and Matola Santos. The Lord has answered our prayers and directed us to two great, new families in order to fulfill this goal. One family, Francisco and Lucia, happened to be walking beside us as we headed to a lesson and had already met with the missionaries in Beira a few years ago. It is always amazing to me how the Lord puts these people, who are so ready to hear our message, right smack dab in our path.
Agostinho (who will be getting married/baptized on the 31st!) has been an incredible blessing this week for the work, and in fact has become quite the missionary this week, taking us to new families, and helping us teach the Law of Chastity. His testimony has such an incredible power to resolve any concerns our families may have. Plus he can speak Xichingana, so that is a big plus too!
Another miracle happened with one of our families this week, Aarão and Paulina. We passed by him on Saturday when he was in the midst of a little party at his house and made sure his family was coming to Church the next day. Well, when they didn’t show we gave him a call, only to find out a car had run into their house the night before. When we visited him yesterday, we saw the remnants of the accident. He told us they were rudely awakened at 3 a.m. the night before, when a drunk in a Land Rover piled through their wall and directly into their bedroom, only to stop a foot away from where they were sleeping. Miraculously they were unharmed, but have to rebuild some of their house. We hope to be able to help!
Otherwise a great week! Excited to call home in just a few days.
